                                                          ACNE

Acne is a very common problem in the modern times, especially amongst the teenagers, during adolescence. Acne lesions mainly appear on the surface of the skin in the form of blemishes, pimples, spots. Though acne lesions may start appearing during the teens, it may continue into adulthood. Acne generally affects the face and neck, but can extend to upper part of chest, back and shoulders too.

Acne can be caused due to several factors like genetic history, skin irritation or inflammation, stress, hyperactive sebaceous glands, use of steroids, exposure to halogens etc. There are various home remedies to prevent, cure and curtail formation of acne.

1) Apply orange peel extracts on acne affected areas.

2) Make a paste of cinnamon and honey. This should be applied to acne spots before going to sleep. It should be left overnight and washed in the morning.

3) Take ripe tomatoes, make a paste, apply to the face and leave it on for 30 minutes. Wash off.

4) Boil milk and add lime juice. The mixture is cooled and applied to the skin. It even clears out blackheads and treats cracked skin.

5) Fresh mint juice works wonders if applied to acne affected areas.

6) Mix unboiled milk with flour. Use the solution as a face wash.

Diet is something which must be taken into account to get rid of acne .

Though it is believed that chocolate is one of the principle reasons for acne there is no scientific reasons for that.
The consumption of milk is directly related to acne.
Carbohydrates like sweets, bread and soft drinks causes acne.

Acne vulgaris is the most common type of acne – which inflicts mostly the teenagers. Acne is a problem which should not be worried about much as it is not a permanent disease. However, in severe cases of acne problems, a dermatologist should be consulted. But it should be remembered that just by applying certain cosmetics or medicine, acne seldom can be cured permanently. A healthy lifestyle, coupled with a wholesome diet is what is necessary to get an acne-free, flawless skin.
